(14 to 28Vdc High Power DC Converter)


RH28The KGS model RH28 converts 14 Vdc input voltage to a regulated 28 Vdc output voltage. The converter is capable of delivering 280 Watts continuously at 28 Vdc and up to 10 amperes output.

A state of the art "Synchronous Current Mode Switching" topology with Surface Mount Technology (SMT) is used to realize the power conversion. Control circuitry includes use of a popular Synchronous PWM controller for voltage regulation and overload current limit.  Because of the design topology, a wide input voltage range is possible while delivering highly regulated 28Vdc output power.

Overload: Unit will not suffer damage or degradation in performance from an overload input current of  50 Amps for 5 Sec or until a 25 Amp input circuit beaker trips
Output Voltage: 28 ± 0.5 Vdc regulated for input voltage from 8 to 28 Vdc (Switching Mode)
Follows input voltage for the input above 28 Vdc (Override Mode)
Output Current: 0-10 Amps continuous.  15 amps for 5 minute.
Power: 280 Watts continuous for input voltage from 12 to 28 Vdc.
420 Watts for 5 minutes at 14 Vdc input voltage
Regulation: 1% for line, 1% for load and 1% for temperature
Overload (OL): Delivers 110% output power for 2 hours minimum
Protection (OL):

Withstands without damage or degradation, loads exceeding 110% of the rated current. Output voltage falls toward input voltage when load exceeds 20 Amps. Unit delivers rated output power upon removal of the overload (OL) conditions.

Protection (SC): Unit is protected against output short circuit by an external 25 Amp input circuit breaker per MIL-C-5809
